### What to Expect at the Summer Camp

  • Flight Training: Hands-on experience with quadcopters, focusing on take-off, landing, and precision maneuvering.

  • Drone Assembly: Workshops on building and repairing drones to understand the hardware and electronics (ESC, Flight Controllers, Motors).

  • Regulations & Safety: Essential lessons on "No Fly Zones" (NFZ) and Indian DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation) rules.

  • Creative Applications: Basics of aerial photography, videography, and potentially data mapping.

🚁 Drone Explorer Curriculum (Ages 8–15)

Day 1: The Science of Flight

  • Theory: How do drones stay in the air? Introduction to the four forces of flight: Lift, Weight, Thrust, and Drag.

  • Activity: "Paper Drone" design contest to understand aerodynamics.

  • Safety: The "Golden Rules" of drone flying (keeping distance, battery safety).

  • Flight: First session with a Simulator to get used to the controls (throttle, pitch, roll, and yaw).

Day 2: Anatomy & Assembly

  • Theory: Parts of a drone. Understanding the "Brain" (Flight Controller), "Muscles" (Motors/ESCs), and "Eyes" (Camera/Sensors).

  • Hands-on: Taking apart a modular drone and putting it back together.

  • Workshop: Soldering basics (for older kids) or "Plug-and-Play" component connection.

Day 3: Mission: Pilot Skills

  • Theory: Understanding Airspace. What are Green, Yellow, and Red zones in India? (DGCA Digital Sky map intro).

  • Flight: Real-world flying in a controlled environment.

    • Exercise 1: The "Square" (Take off, fly in a square, land).

    • Exercise 2: The "Figure 8" (Advanced maneuvering).

  • Challenge: Landing on a moving target (a slow-moving RC car).

Day 4: Drone Coding & Automation

  • Theory: Intro to Block-based coding (like Scratch or DroneBlocks). Why do we need autonomous drones?

  • Activity: Program a drone to perform a "Dance" (Take off, flip, rotate, and land) automatically.

  • Workshop: "Rescue Mission" — Code the drone to navigate an obstacle course without a pilot's help.

Day 5: The Grand Prix & Careers

  • Theory: Future of Drones (Agriculture, Delivery, Medicine, and Racing).

  • Event: The Obstacle Course Race. Kids compete for the fastest (and safest) flight time.

  • Ceremony: Awarding "Junior Pilot" certificates.

  • Next Steps: Guidance on how to get a Remote Pilot Certificate (RPC) once they turn 18.

Important Note on Regulations

In India, per the 2026 DGCA guidelines:

  • Drones under 250g (Nano category) do not require a license, making them perfect for this age group.

  • Always fly within Visual Line of Sight (VLOS) and below 400 feet.
